Many operators prefer the simple safety of using traditional hydraulic motors in a wet environment. They are often considered more durable under the harsh conditions at a car wash and many feel they present fewer maintenance issues

At the same time, electric motors with VFD controls can often reduce utility consumption and eliminate the potential for hydraulic leaks. Although more expensive, they are easier to install and are potentially better for the environment.

The best choice really depends on specific conditions present at each location combined with an operator’s preference. That’s why SONNY’S offers both and has engineered our equipment to convert from one to the other in the event an operators decision changes.
